The Debut of Martha’s Freedom & The Release of “Safe”

Martha’s Freedom is a new indie rock project created by Danny Clayton and Heather Alpine Bech, who have collaborated together in other bands in the past. For approximately three years they toured the Southeastern United States playing at festivals and venues such as The Pour House (Raleigh, NC), Isis (Asheville, NC), Preservation Pub (Knoxville, TN), The Grey Eagle (Asheville, NC), Awendaw Green (Awendaw, SC), Oscar Blues (Brevard, NC), The Station (Carrboro, NC), The Cave (Chapel Hill, NC), Vello Fellow (Greenville, SC), Surf Bar (Folly Beach, SC), On The Rox (Richmond, VA), Taste of Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), Steppin’ Out Festival (Blacksburg, VA), and Fall for Greenville (Greenville, SC). Since the world was shut down in 2020, they have spent their time in the studio finalizing songs and recordings.

The music of Martha’s Freedom comes from a passion for exposing the faux world that is painted before humanity every day by mainstream media, puppet politicians, agenda-influencing celebrities, corrupt educational systems, and sinister religious doctrine.  Realizing that most people are disturbed by the truth, preferring to simply bury their head in the sand and silence truth tellers, Martha’s Freedom emerged to trumpet exactly that which sandheads desperately safeguard themselves against.  And MF does so - for the love of mankind.

“Safe” is their first single release. Many more songs are scheduled for release this 2023. Stay tuned.

Their namesake is their Husky, Martha, who passed away in 2021.  She was a deep soul who taught them the meaning of freedom. She was 14 years old.

Martha. 2007-2021.

“‘Safe’ is a song about being lost... and being found. It's about a perpetual existential crisis, and by that we mean - having no idea what we (human beings) are, why we're here, or how we got here; and a deep, dark fear that it is all for naught. This is the entrance into what the New Age calls Nothingness. And it, like the New Age, is a trap for the ignorant and naive. We fell down this rabbit hole too many times to count.”

‘Safe’ is about being lost... and being found.
— Martha's Freedom

Little did they realize, at the time of writing “Safe”, the depth and heartfelt meaning of its truth. It would only be once their minds were authentically open to God's Word for the first time, years later... that Safe would be a blessing... in disguise.

(And God's Word is not the same as modern-day Christianity. The church and their evangelists have perverted the literal translation.)

“It’s interesting to realize, in hindsight, just how important Martha’s life was in showing us the integral importance of the depth of freedom. Yet it took her death for us to step into truly discovering it ourselves.”

Freckles & Martha. WNC. 2010.

This song is dedicated to their cousin David who just passed away Christmas Eve at a very young age. They loved him very much.

David & Amber.
